1.2. –le + -y ð -ly

   (после согласной)

nobly 'благородно'

 

1.3. –c + -ally

fantastic 'сказочный'

fantastically 'сказочно'

 

2. прилагательное, существительное +

                         -ward(s)

                         -wise

                         - ways 

 

back 'оборотный'

north 'север'

clock 'часы'

side 'сторона'

 

backwards 'в обратном направлении'

northwards 'на север'

clockwise 'по часовой стрелке'

sideways 'в сторону, косо'

 

Б) Конверсия*

a hard work 'тяжелая работа'

a fast train 'скорый поезд'

the right answer 'правильный ответ'

to work hard 'упорно работать'

to run fast 'быстро бежать'

to turn right 'повернуть направо'

Двойной вариант:

·  1. с одинаковым значением

  • loud / loudly 'громкий, громко'
  • cheap / cheaply 'дешевый, дешево'

·  2. с различным значением

  • hard 'упорно' / hardly 'еле-еле, с горем пополам'
  • late 'поздний, поздно'/  lately 'недавно, в последнее время'

* Отличить такие наречия от прилагательных можно по выполняемой ими роли в предложении:

  • прилагательное характеризует существительное: It is early spring. 'Сейчас ранняя весна'.
  • наречие – характеризует глагол (иногда прилагательное или другое наречие) с целью уточнения того, как происходит (происходило) действие: Spring came early this year. 'Весна пришла рано в этом году'.

Перед глаголом-сказуемым 

He usually comes to work early.

После глагола to be

 

They are never late.

They are not always late. 

После первого вспомогательного глагола

She has just signed the contract.

They are still negotiating the deal.

Yet, before, lately, recently

В конце предложения

I haven’t met him lately.
